Our Sustainability

Lombardi Design & Manufacturing, industry leader in sustainable manufacturing, proves luxury and sustainability can go hand in hand. Lombardi’s US factory is powered by Niagara Falls hydroelectric energy.  We are ISCC+ certified for the utilization of Chemically Upcycled PCR.  We prioritize eco-friendly practices from offering a range of sustainable materials to our reuse of Post-Industrial Resin – the biproduct of our injection molding.  Nothing is wasted, and we strive to make the least environmental impact.

Your Questions, Our Craft

Lombardi has been a pioneer in the use of mechanical PCR. Meaning, typical recycled plastic derived from your blue box. These resins include #1 PET, #2 HDPE, #5 PP, and even postindustrial ABS. Since 2021, Lombardi has been ISCC+ certified which authorizes us to mold chemically upcycled PCR. For this we offer PET and PBT with the same properties as virgin resin but with the environmental benefits of using PCR.
For several years Lombardi has offered custom, color-matched ocean bound PCR in the form of PET plastic. This material is derived from the collection of water bottles from beaches and waterways and transformed into an injection moldable grade ideal for closures. Lombardi was selected by LaMer for its Blue Heart program celebrating World Water Day with the creation of an ocean bound PCR jar cap.
The embodiment of sustainability encompasses all of the energy and resources involved in the production of a part. Lombardi has a unique ability to manufacture a component with the smallest environmental impact. Thanks to our 80% renewable energy, domestic production and ISCC+ certification, Lombardi offers an ideal embodiment of sustainability: Fewest emissions, fewest transportation, fewest virgin material.
